FAILURE MECHANISMS AND LIFE PREDICTION OF THERMAL BARRIER COATINGS |
|
|
Abstract Thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) are one of the key materials of turbines for propulsion and power generation. The failure mechanisms and life prediction of TBCs are the key problems which are urgently needed to be resolved. The TBCs research history and current status both at home and abroad are reviewed. The paper mainly introduces the recent developments of the failure mechanisms, measurement techniques, experimental and numerical simulations and life prediction models of TBCs. Finally, the development tendency of TBCs is proposed.
